Ventnor Botanical Gardens Sculpture Trail
This summer I will be showing a collection of sculptures at the Ventnor Botanic Gardens in the Isle of Wight. The sculptures are mainly based on plants that I have photographed and drawn whilst visiting the gardens in the last eighteen months. To those of you who have never been to the gardens (or even the Island), it really couldn't be easier to travel there and to this end I have listed all details below. I often go there for a day trip, but there are also some lovely places to see, eat and sleep at, so details for these are also below. The Sculpture Trail will be opening on saturday 20th June, and will run for 3 months until september. TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS
BY RAIL—To Portsmouth Harbour where you transfer to Wightlink Fastcat
taking you to Ryde Pierhead. (www.wightlink.co.uk/08713761000)
You can then take the local Islandline(0845 7484950) train to Shanklin and connect to a bus direct to Ventnor Botanic Gardens which travel hourly. The Islandline will give you time of buses.

BY CAR---To Portsmouth Ferry Terminal where you pick up the Car Ferry to Fishbourne (www.wightlink.co.uk/0871 3761000). You can then head for Ventnor via Newport or via the coast road going through Ryde. The Botanic Garden is 1 mile west of Ventnor on the coast road A3055.

Alternatively you can take a coach from Brighton to Portsmouth Hard and pick up the Fastcat as for the train.
